  Who are the "Inactive"?

  this was my starting point in this journey of rediscovery, and i've made great strides, but here i am again asking the same question.

  all this talk re the rc and the shunning of the inactive ones.

  there is no announcement made obviously about "shun sister so-and-so, as she is inactive.

  My statis is inactive.....but the people I care about know i dont intend on returning. Some even kind of know why.

  I feel like the best way to explain it is a quarantine. Its a quarantine and they are doing it with loaded language.

  Did you catc the chapter about childrens leukemia and blood transfusions? I mean.......the areogance of JWs claiming blood is simply bad medicine. It fills me with rage.

  List of "pagan" things JW's allow

  what i'm looking for specifically is things that are "pagan" in the sense they predate christianity (or i guess judiasm to cover the ole mosaic code), that jw's allow or do.

  the ones that come to mind are below.. rings - rings seem to originate in egypt.

  for wedding ceremonies it became a symbol of "ownership" in rome.. pinatas - looks like possibly it originated in china as a part of the new year and a request for luck, and catholics later turned it into a beating of temptation type thing.. anything else?.

  We all are varying degrees or good or bad, bit comparing johad extremism with less lets say......violent forms of belief.....is not productive IMO.

  Good video. I like the added touches. A tiny bit more wordsmithing on the substance, and maybe 10 min. That is the,sweet spot. 40-60 min videos (unless its a JC on tape) are for the birds. Who has time?

  Malcom Gladwel had a book entitled David and Goliath. He doesnt question the actual account, but suggests there are good reasons to believe Goliath wasnt all that. That he too has the same pituitary gland disorder which can also cause diplopia (double vision), which would explain why Goliath says "so you come to me with sticks" (plural), when david only has his staff. Also, he had a shield bearer, which would possibly indicate some other restrictions related to that disorder. I cant think of the name.

  His point is more about how seeming advantages can be disadvantages, and vice versa, using this story as a set off point with things not being as lopsided as they may have seemed. It was pretty interesting.

  UPDATE: My existential crisis comes to a close

  in case you read my other thread regarding my existential crisis and how it was making my life miserable and left me feeling hopeless, purposeless and joyless i though i'd share what's recently happened to me and my way of thinking and have i've for the time being resolved my existential crisis.

  i write every day in a journal.

  i've been doing this for years.

  What is interestib to me, is they are certaimly making a push for people to shun properly. Meaning it must be a problem and possibly in their minds is causing those people to not come back.

  They have however also lightly pointed to faders, as potential shun targets. Not directly......but its there. So the way this is starting to go in the minds of the rsnk and file is to shun df'd ones (no brainer), but to ALSO shun those that SHOULD be df'd (in their minds). Meaning the ones that dont go bu they would say "know better". Or the ones that are off the radar but may celebrate a birthday.
